The Sabarmati Report takes viewers back to one of India’s most tragic events, the Godhra incident, presenting it through the lens of investigative journalism. Running for a crisp two hours, the movie aims to challenge established narratives and spark discussions about the biases that often shape history. While it engages viewers for the most part, a more realistic and grounded approach could have elevated its impact significantly.

The first half of the movie surprisingly places less focus on the Godhra tragedy itself, instead highlighting the inner workings of a news channel that manipulates its coverage to align with political interests. This backdrop sets the stage for the main narrative: the struggle between truth and power.
The story revolves around Samar Kumar (played by Vikrant Massey), a principled Hindi journalist who teams up with Mahika (Ridhi Dogra), a determined and ambitious reporter at a leading news network. Their mission to cover the Godhra tragedy takes a twist when Mahika is directed by her superiors to frame the incident as an unfortunate accident,
